DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE for the Whole Body

at the Sage School of Massage in Bend, Oregon

June 28 – July 1, 2011  

 

Explore deep tissue principles and techniques that can be used to treat injuries throughout the whole body.   

 This class will include the following:

• Anatomical and physiological understanding of muscle health and dysfunction
• Theoretical framework for approaching treatment:  the ‘whys’ of treatment
• Review of relevant anatomical structures
• Specific treatment protocols 
• Injury prevention
• Client after-care

Current information on, and basic treatment approaches to, the following problems:

• Low back pain
• Gluteal region pain
• Hamstring, groin and quadriceps pain
• Knee pain
• Lower leg, ankle and foot pain
• Mid-back and thoracic pain
• Neck pain
• Headaches
• TMJ
• Whiplash
• Shoulder injuries
• Injuries of the elbow
• Forearm pain
• Wrist pain (including carpal tunnel syndrome
• Hand and thumb pain

This is a great class if you are new or relatively new to deep tissue work or as a comprehensive review/analysis for the experienced deep tissue worker.  The detailed, straightforward treatment protocols will help you ‘hit the ground running’ and allow you to treat a variety of problems that you may encounter in your office.
