- served as chairman of the Oregon State Board of Massage
Technicians
- performed as a principal investigator in research on
carpal tunnel
syndrome for a National Institute of Health study
- performed as advisor and co-investigator in research on
treatment approaches for lateral knee pain for graduate thesis in
association with Anna Mae Zorn at Central Washington University
- holds a master's degree in exercise physiology
- has been a registered nurse specializing in orthopedics
- has had a career in college teaching, coaching and
administration
- as a former NCAA College Division All-American in swimming,
has unique insights into the stresses placed on athletes
